I began as Youth Director at Westminster in June of 2005.  My ministry is mainly
with Middle and High School students.  I enjoy working with youth on a one on
one basis as well as in groups.  Some group activities we have are BIG
(Believers In God), which is the name of our youth group here at Westminster.
BIG meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.  On Wednesday night
we hold Bible studies for middle and high school aged kids alike.

My husband Charles and I are parents of two daughters, Jacie and
JorgiaSuanne.  We are members at First Baptist Church in Worthington, where
I grew up.

As a licensed Minnesota teacher in the area of agricultural education, I am
currently teaching special education at Worthington ALC.  I am also a teacher
for Community Education and hold the position of Program Assistant for
Community Education.  As Program Coordinator for Jackson County Extension
Service and their 4-H program, I gained experience in fund-raising, building
projects, and parent/adult volunteer coordination.  Being a Specialized
Vocational Service bookstore manager provided me with the privilege of
working with disabled adults, high school students, and Private Industry Council
clients.  State and national recognition was gained for my restoration of an
Agricultural Education and Industrial Arts program for the Butterfield-Odin
Schools after it had been closed for 13 years.  I am also an experience grant
writer.

While my time at Westminster has been brief, the rewards have been many.
God has a mysterious way about telling each and every one of us his plan for
our life.  Sometimes we see the signs right away; sometimes we don’t until
later.  Either way, it is in God’s time and ultimately His plan.  I believe that for
over five years, God has been laying the ground work for me to serve the
congregation and youth of Westminster.  God knew I would need to endure
hardships and disappointments.  He’d have to instill patience in me, and supply
me with understanding and a vivid memory of what it’s like to be a teenager
who wrestles with emotions, hormones, questions, and a general eagerness to
explore life, and all the while not pass judgment, and remind me that no matter
what warnings I heed, sometimes the school of tough knowledge is the only way
we learn.  Our youth need the freedom to make their own mistakes, explore life’
s opportunities, and be reassured of unconditional love no matter the out comes.
