| OCCASIONAL OFFERINGS |
Throughout the year we contribute to several special offerings.
Blanket - In February, the Blanket Offering is received to supply blankets to refugee,
disaster victims and others in need through Church World Services programs.
One Great Hour of Sharing - The One Great Hour of Sharing is received at Easter
and supports three needs: The Presbyterian Hunger Program, Disaster Relief, and
the Self Development of People.
Pentecost - The Pentecost offering received in early summer supports our
denominations' ministry with youth. 40% is used for local programs for youth-at-risk.
Peacemaking - On World Community Sunday, the Peacemaking offering is
received to pay for peacemaking programs. 25% is used for local programs.
Christmas Joy - The Christmas Joy offering supports our ethnic colleges and
supplements the resources of needy retired pastors and their spouses.
Additional Offerings - People respond with additional offerings at times of natural
disasters such as the tsunami tragedy and hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
